"Where do abstracts come from? What places inspire the mapmaker to conduct their study? Drawing on with the growing trend of positionality as a researcher, and more attention to embodied ways of knowing, the workshop juxtaposes methods of data collection done in artistic practices, residencies, or with other geographic research disciplines. The workshop introduces a certain way of mapping through the arts with the use of paper dolls—adopting The O Home’s model—and builds on the question of how to weave different places and vectors together. Forms of placemaking, may it be through an exhibition, archive or dialogic performance, will be discussed to present the culminating outputs made during the workshop."
