"Protecting ‘Bulwagang Palma’ from disaster risk: Measures for a Heritage Building"
A one-day virtual webinar-workshop on August 24, 2021 (Tuesday), from 8:30 to 5:30 pm to talk about Palma Hall as a heritage building and to solicit from Palma hall building administrators and staff recommendations on its conservation and protection from disaster risk.
The discussion will feature topics ranging from concepts of disaster as applied to heritage collections, Palma Hall as heritage building within the university campus, Heritage zones and UP Campus, architectural conservation of a heritage building, risk path and natural hazards, value pie and heritage collections, and scenario-based and context-based workshop activities.
Both morning (webinar) and afternoon (workshop) sessions are open to all. However, the workshop is tailored to and will focus on Palma Hall. Individuals interested in obtaining a certificate would need to apply the workshop principles and lessons to their own / respective buildings and submit it to the secretariat so that guest reactors may comment and give feedback. Only then can certificates be issued.
