Fire Safety Lecture
In cooperation with the CSSP Student Council and the CSSP Safety and Resiliency Committee, the College of Social Sciences and Philosophy held a Fire Safety Lecture last October 1, 2019, from 1:00 pm to 4:00pm, at Palma Hall 207.
The speakers for the said lecture were Senior Fire Officer 1 Richard Andrew Roces, a recipient of the 2017 Fireman of the Year award and a firefighter who has helped put out actual fires in the UP Diliman campus, and Senior Fire Officer 1 Llianne Jane Obispado of the Quezon City Bureau of Fire Protection. The highlight of the lecture was the demonstration of the proper way of handling fire-fighting equipment in case of fire emergencies. The lecture also featured topics that equipped the CSSP students, faculty, academic staff and REPS with knowledge and skills on fire safety, effective emergency response, and rescue techniques. With the disseminated information, it is hoped that it can reduce possible threats of fire to CSSP community and its property, and can bring further improvements in fire safety plans of the college.
This activity is part of our collective disaster preparedness in the CSSP.
