"Pulang Daan" (Red Road) traverses the controversies of the Acoje Road in Santa Cruz, Zambales, a path worn down by decades of mining operations since the early 1900s. With responsibility over the road unclear and the worsening impacts of mining, the imperiled communities are lost as to where to go. Indeed, what brings some up, brings others down.
This documentary is made by Regina Buco, Solène Crohem, Rhodz Lamarre, and Jeman Malibiran as the latest output of the Video Documentary Internship Project of the UP Third World Studies Center and the University of Montréal. The project is supported by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada.
